Laser Projector Buying Guide for Nepal — Lumens, Throw & Screens
How many lumens you need, how far the projector sits from the screen, 4K vs WUXGA, and why laser has replaced lamp projectors.

Projectors remain the most economical way to show a very large image — in lecture halls, auditoriums, ballrooms, museums and projection-mapping shows. Laser light sources have removed the old cost of lamps, so the decision now comes down to brightness, resolution and placement.
Lumens: match brightness to screen size and room light
- Up to 3 m wide: 4,000–7,000 lumens in a normal room.
- 3–5 m: 7,000–9,000 lumens, more if the room is bright (Krinda C-WU700L, C-WU800L).
- 5–8 m or bright halls: 12,000–15,000 lumens (C-WU1200L, C-WU1500L).
- Outdoor and building mapping: 20,000–25,000 lumens or blended units (Wincomn C-WU2500).
Throw distance
Throw distance = throw ratio × image width. With a 1.5:1 lens, a 4 m image needs the projector 6 m away. Interchangeable lenses on installation projectors range from about 0.3:1 (ultra-short) to 8:1 (long throw), so placement is rarely the problem.
4K or WUXGA?
True 4K (Wincomn C-4K650) is worth it for spreadsheets, CAD, detailed images and immersive rooms viewed up close. For presentations and video in large halls, WUXGA (1920×1200) at higher brightness is often better value.
Laser vs lamp
Laser projectors run 20,000–30,000 hours with no lamp changes and stable brightness, and can be mounted at any angle. Over five years they usually cost less than lamp models once lamps and downtime are counted.

Frequently asked questions
Projector or LED wall?
For very large images in rooms that can be dimmed, a projector is far cheaper per square metre. For bright lobbies and 24/7 signage, LED wins.
Do laser projectors need maintenance?
Very little — occasional dust cleaning. There are no lamps to replace.
